Update on H1N1 Cases in TP

Dear Students,

TP has had another 2 cases of H1NI, bringing the total number of cases to 4. Thankfully, like the first two cases, the 2 new cases were students who got H1N1 from outside TP.

The first was a student from Engineering School who got it when he was doing his in-camp training (hence he did not attend classes),

and the second a Business student who got it through a contact outside of TP. Hers was a mild case, but as she did come to TP for a few days before symptoms developed, contact tracing was done and TP students who were in close contact with her have been given LOA.

We can expect more cases, but perhaps it helps to remember that as it stands now the virus, while spreading easily, is mild in effect for the average person. Our concern really is for those who have underlying medical conditions, and it is these who may be on campus or in our homes that we make every effort to protect.
